Yoga Teacher and Ceremonialist

Ashley McGee is a Yoga Teacher and Ceremonialist. Her training is through premier studio, Yoga Shanti where she began studying with world-renowned teachers, Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee.

Ashley resides in Montauk, New York where she teaches private sessions and various classes around the Hamptons, including Montauk Yacht Club, Marram, The Surf Lodge, Gurney’s, Topping Rose House, The Reform Club, Roundtree, Mandala, and more. In the Winter, Ashley hosts retreats and teaches in Costa Rica and Puerto Rico.

Ashley has collaborated with global brands like Maybelline, non-profits like Surfrider Foundation and A Walk On Water, communication companies like Mazarine Group, C-suite executives, celebrities, and more.

Named one of PURIST magazine’s A-team coaches and recognized for creating encompassing sensory experiences by EAST magazine, Ashley has also been featured in Hamptons Magazine, WHALEBONE, imagista, KDHamptons, Hamptons Social, Dan’s Papers, and James Lane Post. Students and clients describe Ashley as a ray of light, her sessions as a transcendent experience, and her hands as safe, strong, intuitive and gentle.

Ashley is inspired by anatomical alignment and inquiry of the subtle. She creates a multisensorial environment where participants have the time and space to feel the internal essence of the poses and to tune the body like a musical instrument. Her sessions integrate an Iyengar-based approach, vinyasa flow, guided meditation, unique (sometimes live) music, sonic healing, and aromatherapy. Ashley’s teaching style is known for being challenging yet serene, calm yet with invigorating precision. She values yoga as a science and linking of the physical, mental, moral, and spiritual well-being of humans.

Ashley curates special events where she collaborates with Musicians, Artists, Designers, Astrology Readers, Reiki Masters, and Filmmakers who compliment her offerings. Her background is largely rooted in creating artful, unexpected experiences where there is a shift from when the participant enters and exits.

Prior to becoming a Yoga Teacher, Ashley lived in NYC, acquiring 12+ years of experience spanning cultural institutions, global media companies, production studios, and the creative industry. Ashley built most of her career at VICE as Global Account Director where she ran brand partnerships with companies such as Intel and Dell. Ashley was Head of Business Development + Marketing at The FRONT, leading brand partnerships with National Geographic and Spotify; and, she served as Group Account Director at Milk Studios.
